Larry said something that reminded me of the Angels this morning. For those overseas, the Angels were around at the same time as ACDC and were just as big here.
What started the conversation @crozdog was Larry talking about Alice. To which i replied in the usual fashion, but he'd never heard that song either :D
Yes, 'no chill' there's a stack of info on it. Basically you brew right up to the chilling stage and whirlpool hopping ect and then cube hot.
Ready to ferment when i please. Truth be told it's not as good a system for the hoppy beers that i like, there's workarounds, but it fits my brew/ferment system. If i could temp control one/two 84l batches and then keg them and store in kegs in a coll room that's probably what i'd do.
But when i tried casual mention of building a cool room with an air conditioner it was met with a style of resistance that i knew was not worth battling through. =;
I have a ferment fridge that ferments two cubes at a time atm, if i could find a shelf for it i could double that. Summer time i do Saison's at ambient as well.
I don't think your selling the cool room idea well enough.
The kits can be had reasonably cheap and if you get good control of temp and humidity you could do everything from freezing to lagering to air dried hams to hot fermented salamis. Even a herd of goats:) These are OK quality but I recon I could build one for 1/4" the price.
If you can find a good source of bondor/sandwich panel it would cost bugger all.
Yep, i could build the insulated room myself on the cheap i'm positive and a reverse split cycle can be had new for about $600. Running at the 19c i want i wouldn't even need a controller according to what i have read.
I never got past the first sentence without the no way, and saying that it would be cheaper than running the fridges just got scoffed at.
One of my little motos i live by is pick the battles you can win. And getting my own way on this one would not be a win.
One of my moto's that i ignored at the start was 'never ask a question you don't want to hear/know the answer to, or will force someone to lie to you'. :))

It's still early Saturday (13:38) afternoon here. Send me the winning numbers for Saturday night's lotto and I'll split the winnings with ya.
